  MEETINGS EVERY 3RD WEDNESDAY OF THE MONTH
 
   
  Minutes for July 19,2006
   
  The regular meeting of the Albany-Saratoga Base of USSVI, was called to order
  at 1900 by CDR.Cook, with 16 members and 3 guests present.
  The muster list was passed around for those in attendance to sign
  CDR.Cook offered the opening prayer.
  The Pledge of our flag was recited by all.
  The Tolling of the Boats was given for all those lost in the month of July.
  All WWII sub-vets were asked to stand and be recognized. Ray Koch and Walt
  Bydairk stood.
  CDR.Cook asked new member Robert Currier, to stand, introduce him-self and
  state his submarine tour.
  Treasure’s report was given by Bob Ondek .Accepted by Mike Lynett and
  seconded by Frank
  OLD BUSINESS
  CDR.Cook reminded us that those participating in The Turning Point Parade on
  Sunday Aug.6
  will muster around 1200/1230 near the Schylerville school. Uniform of the day
  is blue golf shirt, tan pants, with either black shoes or white sneakers.
  Frank Dorchak brought in a model for our float, which included the
  superstructure and supports
  behind the skin.
  Bob Ondek has posted a N.Y. State missing submarine personnel list on the
  internet and has ask
  any member to help give any information that could help Bob update his list
  for The Memorial.
  As Bob said, this info is not easy to get since the Freedom Of Information Act
  was implemented.
  Those who were part of the action or knew someone who was, can help Bob fill
  in the missing pieces.
  CDR.Cook mention the present issue of American Submariner has the
  ballots and instructions
  on balloting. All Albany-Saratoga Base members are to submit their ballots to CDR. Cook, to
  be
  tallied by John before being sent to National.. CDR. Cook says that you can
  mail it to him,  phone
  it to him, e-mail it to him, or bring it to the next meeting,Aug.16.There is a
  cut off date, so please
  do it now.
   District 5 CDR Al Singleman gave us an update on a new website that
  National Headquarters is
  working on.
  Members present brought up the subject of a possible picnic on Sept. 16th
  ,after all the summer
  activities have slowed down. Think about the idea and the date. Nothing definite
  yet. More info to follow.
  In the absence of District CDR. Jim Irwin, our District 5 CDR. Al Singleman
  had the pleasure of
  inducting our newest member into The Holland Club, Frank Dorchak. Frank stood
  along side the
  other six Holland Club members present, as he was given a great round of
  applause from the
  membership. Atta Boy, Frank
  All stood while CDR.Cook gave the invocation and all remain standing to recite
  the Creed of
  USSVI.
  The meeting was adjourned at 2030.
  The next meeting will begin at 1900 on Aug.16,2006,at the American Legion Post
  #70,West Ave., Saratoga Springs, N.Y.
